ABOUT ME

Dr. Swamy (she/her/they) is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor and Board Certified Music Therapist, and has worked with children, teens and adults for over twenty-five years. Dr. Swamy received her Bachelor of Music degree from Oberlin College Conservatory of Music, a Master of Music degree in violin performance and Suzuki pedagogy from the Cleveland Institute of Music, a Master of Arts degree from Naropa University in Transpersonal Psychology with a concentration in Music Therapy, and a PhD in Expressive Arts Therapy from Lesley University. She received her training in Level I & II of the Bonny Method of Guided Imagery and Music, and is currently an advanced trainee in Level III. She also has studied shamanism with the Foundation for Shamanic Studies and the Power Path, and is an experienced Vipassana Meditator. Her work is informed by queer and critical theories, humanistic and transpersonal psychology, contemplative and Indigenous traditions, identity development, and a social justice framework.
